Relationships with nature and place have aways been at the root of my work.  I’m inspired by the physical ‘bodies’ of nature, the sense of movement and entanglement and the contrasts of light and shade, stillness and energy. I take the sensory experiences of colour, light, form and sound back

to my studio and work from visual memory so there is a sense of the merging of inner and outer landscapes. Painting becomes a process of translation and connection - exploring the language of landscape and the reciprocal nature of our encounters with place.
